Think of this place as being like a friendly place. If you leave at some point - thats cool, maybe we'll see you tomorrow, maybe we won't see you for a couple of months (or so) but so what ? - you'll be welcomed back to your favourite chair when you return.....
if you want to go somewhere more busy and rougher where people call one another rude names then maybe this place isn't for you.
History of "theShout"
TheShout board was set up on 07-03-2000 the day that the board was shut on Petes official site - www.petetownshend.com. Initially we were on "bravenet", then "coolboard" and now "ezboard" - hopefully that is it. The members of theShout board are from all over predominantly from the US and Europe but we also have posters from elsewhere.... I'm a Brit called Paul - I post as "majortom2001". Pete is aware of this site as are his "people", whether they ever visit and read what we post is not known ...
"Rules"
I hate "rules", you hate rules, we all hate rules. Here they are:
No selling of illegal merchandise/ bootlegs etc
No get rich quick schemes
No libellous posts
No flaming / slagging one another off
No posts about John Entwistle (RIP) that are likely to cause offence to his family, friends and fans
No exploitation of Johns death for personal financial gain - e.g selling off of "rare" items, signed photos etc (you wouldn't think I'd have to have rules like this one and the previous one would you?)
er... thats it. Pls let me know if someone posts a message you don't like and I will delete it and if necessary ban the person who posted it - pls be patient if I'm on holiday.
Constructive criticism of Pete / the WHO/ other peoples views is OK. The point of these is to keep this a friendly place to visit. If you don't think you can be friendly then do us all a favour and don't bother joining - save yourself the trouble as I will ban you and delete your postings
Access to the Board
To access the board, click on the link at the bottom of the page.
To become a member -
a)Firstly you need to set up a GLOBAL ezboard account to be able to post on this site. Go to www.theshout.net, click on the picture of Pete and then chose "If you do not have a Global User Account, register now" option
b)Once the account is set up ezboard will send you a confirmatory email that you need to reply to
c) Once you have replied to the email, you need to log back in via www.theshout.net, enter "btheshout" in the quick jump option on the next screen and then press the "apply for membership button you'll see once you've logged back in. There is no way around this step unfortunately. Then I can OK yr membership
d)Finally drop me an email letting me know what your ezboard GLOBAL account name is. (there is a link below for my email)
This sounds like a bit of a rigmarole but its not as bad as it sounds.
